Bright Horizons
If Tates Creek can find a reliable low post threat, then they will be an 11th region threat this year. James Johnson was excellent post defender, but had no back to the basket game. A reliable low post scorer last season could have propelled the Creek past Scott Co., in last years regional championship game. Michael Sparks is one of the best players in the state and if he gets any help at all Tates Creek will be a dangerous team. I'm not sure what Mike Spaulding will bring to the table this year. If he cuts down on his out of control play at key moments TC can get to the same level they were at last year. Tates Creek is alos undergoing a coaching change this season. I am not sure what system Coach Williams will run, but he needs his kids to buy in quickly or they will be doomed in the ever competitive 11th region. On the Freshman level TC will have a top 2-3 team in the 11th. Ryan Fucci is a name to remmeber. He is the son of former Mr. Basketball Dom Fucci. There is also a very solid class of youngsters around him. All in all, I think Tates Creek wins around 22-23 games this year. If they feed the horse (Sparks) they can go far. He needs to take over and be an elite level scorer. My prediction is that the Commodores are district runner-ups to Lexington Catholic, and are regional semi-finalists bowing out to Madison Central (who is absolutuely loaded).
