Gallatin’s Jared Carlton voted Army Iron Man

 

Carlton : 281 yards rushing; four touchdowns; four tackles; a sack; and a fumble recovery

 

NASHVILLE , TN – The U.S. Army Nashville Recruiting Battalion is proud to announce that Gallatin County ’s Jared Carlton is the Army Iron Man of the Week in the battalion’s Kentucky recruiting territory. Carlton rushed for 281 yards and scored four touchdowns in Gallatin ’s 29-8 win at Trimble. On defense, Carlton made four tackles, one sack, and recovered a fumble. As a weekly winner, Carlton is now eligible for the Army Iron Man of the Year Award in Kentucky .

 

Playing and excelling on both offense and defense, the Army Iron Man must demonstrate physical and emotional strength, as well as strength of character. The Army Iron Man embodies the qualities of Army STRONG. High school football fans voted on the weekly winner of the U.S. Army Iron Man Award at http://www.TheSportsFlash.com. Fans, coaches, athletic directors, and the media have until 5:00 PM each Sunday during the regular season to nominate a player for the Army Iron Man of the Week Award.

Army Iron Man of the Week

 

Week One (August 23) Caleb Epling - East Ridge Epling scored on offense, defense, and special teams as East Ridge blanked Phelps, 27-0. Epling recovered a fumble in the end zone; returned a punt 34-yards for a touchdown; and rushed for 80 yards, including a 29-yard touchdown run.

 

Week Two (August 31) Blandon Clemons - Bath County Clemons scored four touchdowns on 278 all-purpose yards with a kick-off return of 87 yards for a touchdown; a 38-yard interception return for a score; and touchdown runs of 52 and 82 yards as Bath beat Lewis, 58-14.

 

Week Three (September 7) Thad Highbaugh - Hart County Highbaugh had 290yards of total offense, running for three touchdowns and throwing for another score as Hart County beat Caverna, 44-34. Highbaugh scored his fifth touchdown of the game when he recovered a fumble in the end zone.

 

Week Four (September 14) Jared Carlton - Gallatin County Carlton rushed for 281 yards, scored four touchdowns, made four tackles, one sack, and recovered a fumble in Gallatin's 29-8 win at Trimble County.
