Is anyone familiar with the double wing that Estill Co. runs. It seems to be a top rushing offense, and if the talent is equal, almost unstoppable. I know teams in Michigan and California have beat top notch competition with it.

It is a goooddddd set.......you can do a few game makers from it also;)

Yes. Like about every offense if executed properly you are usually going to beat equal talent. Spread beats equal talent by numbers, Option by numbers, WingT numbers+angles etc. The double Wing is fun to watch if you love teams running the ball. It's like watching paint dry if you love teams that pass. The playaction is great though. My favorite play in it is the Super Sweep where the QB pitches then leads up in the hole. That play alone if REALLY hard to stop if you execute it.

True it is more appropriate for some personel than others. However Colvis East in California has beaten Oregon's and Utah's state champs and also the Texas team that was the subject of the film Friday Night Lights. Tim Murphy, Clovis team coach has been declined a game by Hoover high Alabama more than once.

Some people call the Double Wing the one teams like Air Force and Delta State run. It is more of a flexbone with triple option/ run+shoot concepts. I think the one you are talking about is a double wing with the Oline having foot to foot splits and they cram it down your throat. It can give teams fits.

Yes, the Oline is foot to foot and it is a precision offense nonetheless. Quick, mobile offensive linemen are a must. Two linemen pull on most plays and the QB tosses the ball and leads in the hole on their base play. It's a great offense for middle school as well. West Carter was 0-6 last year in middle school. They now run this offense and are currently 2-0. They defeated East Carter 20-0 and Raceland by 30 points while recording their second shutout.
