Mason Co will play St Patrick tomorrow night for the District title.

St. Patrick, Mason County advance to 39th District title game

 

St. Patrick and Mason County came away with opening round victories in the 39th District Tournament which is being hosted by Mason County. The two teams' wins advanced them to today's final and they also earned a spot in next week's 10th Region Tournament at Montgomery County.

 

In the first game of the doubleheader, the Saints easily defeated Augusta, 15-2, and the Royals came from behind late in the game to down Bracken County, 7-2 in the nightcap.

 

The Polar Bears, behind the pitching of eighth grader Andrew Cummins, threw a scare into Mason County before the Royals plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning that erased a 2-1 deficit. Mason County then broke the game open with four runs in the following inning to advance.
