buttels Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 The losing streak has reached 5. The second time this season the Wildcats have dropped that many in a row. This time it went to extra innings as the Wildcats lost to Trimble County in the NCKC Championship by a 6-5 final in 9 innings. Trimble County started off the game with 2 runs in the top of the first inning just to have the Wildcats match that production in the bottom of the inning. Trimble went on to score another run in the second and two more in the third making the score 5-2 after 3 innings. Then the 5th inning came along. the Wildcats tied the game, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th. It would go to extra innings as Scott Brown settled down not allowing a run until the 9th inning when Heath Buchanan hit a double into left field and scored on an Andrew McLaughlin single into center field with two out. The Wildcats could not recover and fell in the bottom of the 9th inning. Both pitchers, Michael Snell and Scott Brown went the distance. Trimble Co: 212 000 001 - 6 9 1 Gallatin Co: 200 030 000 - 5 8 3 WP: Snell (5-2) LP: Brown (2-5 with 7 k's) Josh Davis - 2-4 Zac Jones, Brad Noel and Scott Brown all with a double The Wildcats fall to 10-16-1 with the loss. True blue (and gold) Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Congrats to my Raiders! I know that some of them were tired (but happy!) this morning. Good luck against WV on Saturday.
GatorFan Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Poor defense on the Wildcats part. Should have won but that's the way the ball bounces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
