Diamond Dandy Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Collins made his first start and had a rough 1st inning allowing 8 runs. Usually a good sinker ball pitcher, JC had trouble keeping it down in the cold. To his credit and the Raiders as a whole, he settled down over the next two innings as the Raiders chipped away at the lead. Junior Austin Seabold came in when the Raiders got close and pretty much shut Alder down. Nice comeback Raiders, it would have been easy to quit on a cold dreary day like this....but I don't see any quit in this bunch.
12voltman Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 How many innings did each pitcher throw in the cold? Did Seabold pitch any varsity games last year?
Diamond Dandy Posted April 6, 2007 Author Posted April 6, 2007 How many innings did each pitcher throw in the cold? Did Seabold pitch any varsity games last year? Collins threw 3+ and Seabold threw 3+ I believe. Alder kept their starter in through 5. This is Seabolds first year in varsity and it looks like he will contribute on the hill, in the outfield and with his bat. Kid did very well today and got his first varsith win. Collins will come around soon too, some kids have trouble with the cold.
