6th Region: Week 10

Featured Replies

The region has again developed into a two team race as Jeffersontown and Butler have squarely put themselves above the rest of the fray. Does that mean that there aren't about 7 or 8 teams with a puncher's chance to take down the contenders? Of course not. But I honestly would be extremely surprised if it wasn't one of the two cutting down the nets at Valley in a month.

Rankings:

1. Jeffersontown - The Chargers defeated WEB DuBois, Fern Creek and Waggener coming out of the long break. Their only loss to a regional foe was that opener against PRP. They face Whitefield Academy, New Albany (IN), Western, St. Xavier, and Manual in what is an extremely busy week. If they can win 5 of the 6, and they certainly are capable of it, they will eclipse the 20 win mark.

2. Butler - The Bears took care of business against Iroquois and WEB DuBois. Adrian Wilder had 25 in the win over WEB DuBois. They face Fern Creek and PRP this week.

3. WEB DuBois - The Lions defeated Whitefield Academy and Southern but couldn't take down either contender as they lost to JTown by 15 and to Butler by 8. They face Seneca, Fairdale, Moore, and South Central (IN) this week.

4. Evangel Christian - The Eagles defeated Central and Whitley County but fell to South Oldham. They definitely have tested themselves and may be the team most poised to take down one of the two contenders in the postseason. They face Moore, Whitefield Academy, Great Crossing and Campbellsville this week.

5. DeSales - The Colts beat Western but lost to Manual. They face Doss, Valley and Eastern this week. Cameron Bischoff is still averaging over 23 points per game.

6. Moore - This starts the best of the rest category and teams 6 through 9, maybe 10, are decent enough to make the regional tournament and compete but shouldn't be considered contenders. Moore, a team having a fairly brutal year, rises to the top of the group this week thanks to beating PRP. They now face Evangel Christian, Waggener, and WEB DuBois. Really a win over any of those would show they can belong in this spot but 2 or 3 would be a big statement.

7. Fairdale - The Bulldogs had blowout wins over LKY and Newcomer Academy but fell to Manual. They face Valley, WEB DuBois, Bullitt Central, and Holy Cross this week. Going 3 - 1 may mean they have what it takes for a nice postseason. 2-2 is probably what is expected. 1-3 or 0-4 would be fairly disastrous.

8. Pleasure Ridge Park - A loss to Moore has PRP taking a fairly major slide after the loss to Fairdale right before the big layoff. Can they look to make a big statement with a win over Central and/or Butler?

9. Bullitt Central - The Cougars had three wins last week including one over North Bullitt. They face Shelby County, Fairdale, and Southern this week.

10. Bullitt East - The Chargers got a nice win over LaRue County to salvage their week after losses to North Hardin and Elizabethtown. They face Spencer County and North Bullitt this week.

11. Valley - The Vikings have really over-performed this season, currently sitting at 14-9. They had 1 win period last year. They had four wins last week and face Fairdale, Meade County, DeSales and Trimble County this week.

12. North Bullitt - The Eagles beat Collegiate but fell to Bullitt Central. They face LKY, Seneca and Bullitt East this week.

13. Whitefield Academy - The Wildcats went 0-4 last week and get no relief with the first two games this week as they face Jeffersontown and Evangel Christian.  They play Fort Knox and Western Hills later in the week.

14. Fern Creek - The Tigers haven't won since January 12th and lost two games last week. They face Cornerstone Christian and Butler this week.

15. Holy Cross - The Cougars fell to Valley and PRP but defeated Iroquois. They face Fairdale this week.

16. Southern - The Trojans are another team without a win since January 12th. They face Thomas Nelson and Bullitt Central this week.

17. Doss - The Dragons defeated Fort Knox for their first win in 2026. They face DeSales and Iroquois this week.

18. Western - The Warriors have three games on the schedule this week, starting with LKY (homeschool team) that might be their last chance at another win this year.

19. Iroquois - The Raiders host Atherton and Doss this week. That Doss game presents a winnable game.
