Danville Christian Academy 55 East Jessamine 32

DCA over East Jessamine 55-32

DCA only gave up 7 points in the first half.  Titus Boyd, DCA’s point guard, was out with the flu.

Still amazing to me that DCA cancelled game with Adair (game was scheduled for Monday) because of "sickness".  BUT was able to play the very next afternoon (Saturday) vs. North Hardin and the day following the cancelled game (Tuesday).

What's your point?  I'm not aware that they cancelled the Adair County game because of sickness, or "sickness" as you put it.  The primary reason they cancelled was because they had overscheduled.  They had scheduled 4 games in 5 days and 5 games over a 7 day stretch and realized it was too much.  There would have been two sets of back to back games in a week.  East and West Jessamine, along with Garrard are all regional opponents so it would make sense to cancel Adair.

Their point guard being sick may have played a role in the decision but if you're trying to say that they used that as an excuse to not play Adair you're wrong.  If that's what you're implying then come out and say it.  Given their schedule last year and this year it's evident that they're not scared of playing anyone.

I stand corrected.  It was cancelled because of sickness BUT there's a bit more to it.  Their point guard, Titus Boyd, played against Woodford on December and was running a temp of 103 right after the game.  It appeared to be the flu (which it was). There were several other players who appeared to be coming down with whatever it was as well.  Given that the next week was overbooked as I pointed out earlier and they had 3 regional games scheduled they opted to cancel against Adair.  The game against North Hardin on Saturday was part of their Tip Off Classic with 8 teams involved and they were hesitant to cancel it.  DCA was prepared to take a JV team over if necessary.  That would have bought the varsity several extra days to recover.  As it turned out the other players didn't come down with what Titus has so they were able to play.

It's not some kind of conspiracy and it's not that they are scared to play tough competition.  It was a judgement call and they made the decision they thought was best for everyone.  If several members of the DCA team DID have the flu and passed it on to the Adair team they'd be soundly criticized for that.

I was not implying anything more than what it appeared.  A game scheduled for Monday was cancelled on the Friday before, because of sickness.  That happens every season to a lot of teams.  No big deal at all.  But, when that team turns around and plays the next day (Saturday) and the day after (Tuesday) the scheduled game it just seems odd.  If they overscheduled that should have been taken care of preseason.  Its no skin off my back, was just looking forward to seeing a good ballgame early in the season.
