15th Region Week 9 Review

We are in the final few weeks of the regular season of basketball and it feels like it has flown by. After having a few days rest from being at the All "A" state tournament it's time to gear up and get rolling again. The District standings are starting to figure themselves out and the post season will be be here before we know it.

1.      Martin County (19-3) The Cardinals continue to be the top team in the 15^th, they advanced to the Elite Eight in the All “A” State Tournament and they return to action this week against Knott County on Wednesday.  

2.      Pikeville (14-7) The Panthers had two wins over in region teams last week, they are right there with Martin County as the top two teams in the 15^th this season.

3.      Shelby Valley (15-6) Valley is continuing to impress me with the style that they are playing this year. They are a legit threat to make a run in the post season.

4.      Pike Central (13-7) The Hawks have put themselves in a spot to be a lock for the region tournament being the 1 seed and having a bye to the district championship game.

5.      Floyd Central (14-7) Floyd Central has been a top 5 team all season and looks to be a tough team come post season.

6.      Johnson Central (10-12)

7.      Prestonsburg (13-9)

8.      Magoffin County (11-9)

9.      Lawrence County (14-10)

10.   East Ridge (12-10)

11.   Paintsville (9-11)

12.   Jenkins (14-12)

13.   Betsy Layne (13-9)

14.   Belfry (5-16)

15.   Phelps (5-14)
