Recommended Posts

Pulaski County won a thriller over fellow region contender Lincoln County in what was the biggest game of what turned out to be a very light week of games to cancellations due mostly to weather. Boyle County also fought off an upset scare and other teams continued to pickup important district wins.

Team Rankings

1.      Pulaski County – Pulaski remains undefeated by defeating fellow regional contender Lincoln County 51 to 46 despite shooting 1 for 14 from 3 point range. Caleb Sloan had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. The Maroons play Casey County, Southwestern, and Central Hardin this week.

2.      Lincoln County – The Patriots fell narrowly to Pulaski County before bouncing back to defeat Lexington Christian. The loss to the Maroons demonstrated what may be Lincoln’s biggest weakness as they were outrebounded 43 to 26. Tramane Alcorn, the Patriots’ leader in rebounds, was held to 3. Without him producing, the Patriots are lacking inside. They face a trio of regional teams this week with Garrard County, Boyle County and Mercer County.

3.      Boyle County – The Rebels picked up a hard fought road win at Garrard County, winning a thriller 66 to 65. Luke Imfeld, who is putting the team on his shoulders, scored 40. Jakei Tarter registered 19 rebounds. Boyle County faces Danville Christian, Lincoln County, and Madison Southern this week.

4.      West Jessamine – The Colts recorded a 20 point win over district and crosstown rival East Jessamine in the rare Sunday afternoon game. They have only one game on the slate for this week as they host Bluegrass United.

5.      Rockcastle County – The Rockets defeated both Somerset and Cordia last week. Daniel Mullins scored 23 in the win over the Briar Jumpers. They face Anderson County and Casey County this week.

6.        McCreary Central – The Raiders are starting to cool off a bit. They easily defeated Somerset Christian before narrowly losing to Lynn Camp. McCreary will try to recover this week against Southwestern and Wayne County.

7.      Garrard County – The Golden Lions almost took down the mighty Rebels of Boyle County. They were successful in defeating Tates Creek by 3. They have another chance this week to get a huge district win as they travel to play Lincoln County before hosting Perry County Central.

8.      Danville – The Ads got another in-region win as they defeated Southwestern by 7. Dante Hayden had 20 points. They face Somerset Christian in the first round of the regional All A Tournament this week.

9.  Danville Christian – The Warriors had their week dramatically rescheduled and ended up playing just one game but it was a good one as they took down Frankfort 50 to 49 in a game that saw Titus Boyd score 17. Danville Christian takes on Burgin in the first round of the regional All A Tournament this week.

10.  Somerset – The Briar Jumpers fell to Rockcastle County last week. They participate in the All A Regional Tournament this week and are one of three favorites to punch their ticket to Richmond.

11.  Wayne County – The Cardinals took down Somerset Christian in their lone game last week. They face Knox Central and McCreary Central this week.

12.  Mercer County – Mercer County had just one game last week, blowing out Model. Seth Caton scored 22. They square off against East Jessamine, Burgin and Lincoln County this week.

13.  Casey County – The Rebels earned a pair of wins over Berea and Frankfort Christian.  They play Pulaski County, Rockcastle County and Western Hills this week.

14.  East Jessamine – The Jaguars fell to district foe West Jessamine as well as Lafayette. They look to correct things this week as they play Mercer County, Madison Southern and Bardstown.

15.  Southwestern – The Warriors fell to Danville by 7. Heagan Galloway scored 26. They face McCreary Central, Pulaski County and Taylor County this week.

16. Somerset Christian – The Cougars fell to Wayne County and McCreary County last week. They play Adair County before starting the All A with a game against Danville. They are also scheduled to play Trinity Christian and Berea.
