Cincinnati Dragons Season Preview and Opening Tournament in Charlotte

Recommended Posts

The Cincinnati Dragons will open their season on Saturday 11/6 at the Queen City Classic in Charlotte.

The Dragons lose 3 players from last year's undefeated national championship team including 2 4-year starters but still return plenty of firepower.  The 3 starters returning are junior Gabe Taylor (Augusta KY), junior Jamie Stanford (Madeira OH), and sophomore Mathias Krodel (Cincinnati OH).  Several players will be vying for the 2 open starting spots including seniors Hayden Peck (Cincinnati) and Sebastian Thome (Dayton OH) as well as junior Kendall Speaks (Ironton OH) and 8th grader Sean Nichols (Villa Hills KY).  Josh Clayton (Piqua OH) and Logan Cover (Hamersville OH) will also be looking to make contributions off the bench.  The Dragons will be traveling to 5-6 tournaments across the region before playing in the national championship in Wichita at the end of March.

The Dragons will be tested early and put their 28-game winning streak on the line at the Queen City Classic.  The first game tomorrow at 10:00 AM is a rematch of the national championship against the Atlanta Hawks.  The Hawks return 3 starters from last year including their leading scorer who just committed to play for the University of Alabama.  The next game at 11:30 AM will be against the Charlotte Hornets (4th place at nationals last year) followed by a 2:30 PM matchup against a young talented Baltimore Blazers team.  Catch all the action tomorrow at Cincinnati Dragons Facebook page
