1st Region Week 7 Review

Limited games in the back half of the week due to some weather issues.

1. McCracken Co. (13-4) - L Ballard 59-72 (Hoopfest)

This week: Tues at University Heights, Friday vs Hopkinsville, Saturday vs Lyon Co.

The loss against undefeated Louisville Ballard was close for most of the game, but the Bruins pulled away in the 4th quarter.  Saturday's home game against Lyon County will be the 1st Region favorite versus the 2nd Region favorite.

2. Murray (9-5) - W Madisonville 57-49 (Hoopfest)

This week: Mon at Lyon Co., Tues at Union Co.

A solid win for the Tigers in the Marshall County Hoopfest against a very talented Madisonville team.  More 2nd region competition this week with a clash at Lyon County on Monday - the Tigers will be an underdog in that game.

3. Paducah Tilghman (8-3) - W vs St. Mary 55-33, L Bardstown 78-81 (OT) (Hoopfest)

This week: Mon at Hickman Co, Tues vs Webster Co, Fri at Henderson Co., Sat vs Calloway Co.

A good win over the Vikings coming out of a COVID pause, and then a tough loss to Bardstown in the Marshall County Hoopfest.  Mian Shaw has been scoring the ball well for the Tornado lately.  This is a busy week for the Tornado with four games against some quality competition.

4. Graves Co. (11-4) - W at Webster Co. 59-53

This week: Thur vs Christian Co., Sat at Mayfield

Seven straight wins for the Eagles!  On Saturday they can clinch the 3rd district title with a win over Mayfield

5. Marshall Co. (4-7) - W vs Greenwood 63-56

This week: Tues vs Ballard Memorial, Fri vs Union Co., Sat at Carlisle Co.

This is the best 4-7 team in Kentucky.  Zion Harmon should be back in a week or two, and his teammates have been getting valuable experience while he's been out with a heel injury.  This is a team that nobody wants to see in the Regional Tournament.

6. Mayfield (7-4) - W at Hickman Co. 61-40

This week: Tues vs Ballard Mem., Fri vs Union Co., Sat at Carlisle Co.

Busy week upcoming for the Cardinal against some quality competition.  This week they play the 7th, 8th, and 4th place teams in these rankings.

7. Calloway Co. (4-8) - No games

This week: Mon vs St. Mary, Tues at Mayfield, Sat at Tilghman

The Lakers haven't played a game since 2/6.  How rusty will they be when they return?

8. Carlisle Co. (9-5) - W at CCA 65-53

This week: Mon vs Fulton Co., Tues at St. Mary, Thurs vs Mayfield, Sat vs. Marshall Co.

I think the Comets are still the 1st District favorite.  They have a busy week upcoming with four difficult games.  Fulton County is playing much better as of late.

9. St. Mary (6-10) - L at Tilghman 33-55, L vs. Trigg Co. 50-54, W at CCA 69-46

This week: Mon at Calloway Co., Tues vs Carlisle Co, Thurs vs. Livingston Central, Sat at Hickman Co.

The Vikings hung with Tilghman for two quarters before they pulled away.  This week there are some winable games for them!

10. Christian Fellowship (13-5) - W at Ballard Memorial 64-57

This week: Mon at Livingston Central, Tues at Fulton City, Fri at Fulton County

Big week upcoming for for the Eagles - can they get all three wins?

11. Fulton Co. (3-5)

12. Hickman Co. (7-9)

13. Community Christian Academy (3-15)

14. Ballard Memorial (2-15)

15. Fulton City (0-10)
