B-Ball-fan
So after taking one on the chin last night against the Highland Bluebirds, the Newport Catholic Central Thoroughbreds headed over to Erlanger tonight to try to right their wrongs by taking on the Red Colonels of Dixie. In this low scoring affair, truly you couldn’t describe this game as anyone burning up the nets, and I suppose you could say that it was a defensive battle, but still hardly anyone got a hot hand even with multiple open looks. With that said nothing came easy and I would be remiss to not emphasize that it truly was a decent defensive game in that respect. I believe that Joel Isles of the Breds is the only one who impressively came away by at least matching his ppg average of 20 points. One glaring advantage that I saw with the Colonels is that they move the ball much faster in transition than do the Breds, and the multiple times they did in my estimation is the reason that they ultimately won. At the end of 1 it was Dixie up 16-10 At the Half Dixie 26-23 By the end of the 3rd quarter Dixie began to stretch their lead being up 40-31 Final: Dixie 49 NewCath
