6th Region after week 3

With JCPS teams getting the go ahead, we will see some movement in the rankings soon.  Let's look at what's happening in the 6th Region!

(season averages in parenthesis)

1. Fern Creek (Last Seasons Champion) (0-0) 

2. DeSales (4-3)   The Colts had a good week, defeating Bullitt Central 73-39 and then knocking off highly touted Owensboro Catholic 57-46.  Seniors Sekou Kalle (19p/11r) and Devin Perry (17p) are leading DeSales, but they are starting to get some solid contribution from some underclassmen, namely so. Keith Robinson (11.5p)  The Colts return to the court Tuesday vs. St. X in a highly anticipated match up

3. Jeffersontown (0-0)

4. PRP (0-0)  

5. Doss (0-0)  

6. Butler (0-0)

7. Bullitt East (3-2)  Bullitt East split games this week - beating district rival Bullitt Central 66-52 and losing @ South Oldham 60-54.  The Blanford's (Sr. Will and jr. Tucker) are both averaging 16.8 per game.  Their next opponent will be Tuesday (1/26) vs. North Bullitt

8. Western (0-0) 

9. Evangel (3-4)  The Eagles had a light week, only playing one game, a 65-40 victory @ Bardstown Bethlehem. So. Dawson Black is leading Evangel in scoring (19p).  They get back to action @ Shelby Co. on 1/26.

10. Southern (0-0)  

11. Moore (0-0)

12. Fairdale (0-0)  Sr. Isaac Tedford is a player to watch.

13. Beth Haven (6-2)  The Bears have added to their strong start - going 3-0 this week with wins over BUHS, Portland Christian, and Foundation Christian.  Jr. Luka Mateski continues to pace Beth Haven (24p/11r) and sr. Luke Easley is averaging 17 a game.  They host Central KY HS on 1/26.

14. Holy Cross (5-1) The Cougars of HC have continued their winning ways by beating CKHS 72-65 and South Central, IN 78-50.  Fr F Jacob Hand is leading HC in scoring (16p).  They next host Portland Christian on 1/28

15.  Iroquois (0-0)

16. Bullitt Central (1-4)  BC had a tough road this week, losing to quality opponents DeSales, Spencer co. and Bullitt East.  Sr. Gavin Hedges (17p) and jr. Hunter Coleman (18p) are pacing the Cougars.  They play again on 1/26 vs. CAL

17. Valley (0-0)

18. North Bullitt (1-3)  North Bullitt split games this week - losing to South Oldham 69-59 and beating HIghlands Latin 82-53. The Geary's (sr. Ryan and jr. Dalton) are both averaging 16p.  They next play @ Bullitt East on Tuesday 1/26

19. Whitefield Academy (0-2)  The Wildcats lost their first two games by a combined score of 129-54.  They have been off since then with Covid cancellations.  Hopefully they can return to the court soon (Scheduled to play Mercer Co. on 1/30)
