Both of these notable Southern Kentucky programs enter with lopsided losses against defending State Champions teams beginning the year at the respective top of their classes. Whitley County was no match for 2A Somerset and their talented offense. Bell County could get no traction against powerful 4A Johnson Central as the Golden Eagles controlled the line of scrimmage and shut the Bobcats out.

Last season Bell County took care of business against the Colonels and doubled them up 42-21. Brandon Baker ran for over 150 yards that game and will return certainly very hungry to have a repeat performance and get Dudley Hilton's boys back in the win column. Bell County should see more open running lanes and should benefit as a direct result against a Colonel defense that allowed over 200 yards on the ground to Somerset.

Whitley County is in the midst of a very challenging 5-game stretch to open their season and will certainly hope to pull the upset off.
