Hopkinsville 77 Fort Campbell 50

Featured Replies

Hopkinsville controlled the game throughout maintaining a 8-12 point lead in the 1st half. In the 2nd half they extended it out to 15 points and sealed the victory from the free throw line in the final 2-3 minutes. That helped make the margin of victory look worse then it was.

Hoptown did a good job of controlling the tempo against a quicker and more athletic Ft. Campbell team that returns 3 starters from a year ago and their top 2 kids off the bench. Hoptown continues to play tough defense and good ball movement making the extra pass. I am amazed at extra passes and ball movement on this years team compared to teams in the past. Kids are also playing hard under new Coach Jim Simmons.

Antwain Loving (Hoptown) 26 Points (11 1st half & 15 2nd half) 5 rebounds

Richard Brown (Hoptown) 11 points 6 rebounds

Darnell Davis (Hoptown) 12 points 8 rebounds off the bench

Chad Brown (Hoptown) 6 points 7 rebounds

Hoptown will face their toughest opponent thus far in the season next Thursday when they host Franklin Simpson.

Tiger, it sounds like the new coaching staff is doing a good job with these kids. Change is what I thought they needed and it's helping the team thus far.
