Final

I had the opportunity to catch this one in person. A very exciting game with both teams playing hard. West Jessamine led pretty much by double digits until 4th quarter when NCC went on run. Howard, Mueller, and Hunter all had 2 threes in the last quarter to pull off the come from behind win.

 

Howard led scoring with 19 and Mullikin added 18 for Breds.

 

#11 for West Jessamine was a really nice player and NCC had a hard time guarding him.

#11 is DeJuan Stepp, a Sophomore for West.

Both teams were missing key players, Joel Iles was out for NCC and Dalton Burner was out for West.

Impressed with Mullikin, he's a strong, physical player that finishes really well. West had no answer for him early. Paying extra attention to him in the 2nd half slowed West's rotation and helped create open penetrate and pitch opportunities for NCC, and they wisely took advantage.

With a 5-point lead late in the 3rd, West went with a younger lineup, NCC started getting better looks and grabbed momentum.

NCC deserved this one, they hit the big 3's in the 4th quarter when the game was on the line.

Yes - Mullikin has been a force all year for NCC and Howard definitely took advantage in 2nd half when they took away Mullikin. Together they form a nice trio with Jefferson, who does a little of everything.
