The Flyers play the Eagles at 1 pm in Dayton. Dayton comes into the game with a 4-5 record boasting wins over Robert Morris, Davidson, Valparaiso, and Butler. Local product, Jake Chisholm, has been used primarily as a kick returner in his freshman season.

The Morehead State Eagles have a 3-6 record with wins over Mt. St. Joseph (D3), Davidson, and Valparaiso.

Who wins this game?

I plan on attending this game. I hope to say "Hello" to the young man from Union.

The University of Dayton Flyers defeated the Morehead State Eagles 63-20.

It was a very cold Saturday afternoon but the sun was shining most of the day.

NKY's own Jake Chisholm ran back one kickoff for about 65 yards but it was called back due to a penalty.

He also got in the game for one carry and almost scored a TD from about 15 yards out. He started inside but things were clogged up there. Using that good vision he was known for in High School he bounced it out, but a defender was waiting for him there. He planted his foot and turned it up field and fought for the last couple of yards landing at the 1 yard line. His teammate scored on the next play. We noted there were a couple of Ryle coaches at the game supporting the former Raider.

My son and I were able to talk to Jake briefly after the game. He was all smiles, as you would expect. He said he loved the university and the classes he was taking, which is why he went to UD... for the education.

One of his coaches later said Jake is killing it in the classroom and some of the other football players ask him for help, even though they are sophomores and he is a freshman.

It was great to see Jake and to see how much he is loving life right now.

Congratulations young man!
