KYMSFA

Featured Replies

I just saw the layout for the year end tournament. It has one school listed as a D-2 school. Elkhorn Middle School in Frankfort. They should be a D-1 school. It says it is based on the total Male enrollment of the school. I know they have more male students their than I do at my school. They always seem to get a pass when it comes to the play-offs. It's not right. They should be in the D-1 bracket so they can play like teams. The AD must of just plain lied about it so they get an advantage over smaller teams. The KYMSFA should call the school to verify the total Male enrollment...Let's see if the KYMSFA will step up and do the right thing. On a side note I did see what happened at the Woodford game and someone on the Elkhorn Staff should be fired along with the AD for condoning this type of behavior..

The KYMSFA uses the numbers listed by the state to determine enrollment. It’s the numbers the state of KY uses to determine funding so it’s not what the AD reports. They also us the enrollment of the 6th and 7th grade to determine division. So they use the 2017 6th and 7th grade enrollment numbers because those are the expected numbers for 2018 7th and 8th grade.

As for the rest I can’t really comment. I would be interested in knowing about what happened at Woodford.
