Class 3A

Three of the Top 5 teams in 3A had a chance to make a statement with stern tests from ranked squads from other classes. Lexington Catholic faded down the stretch against 4A Highlands and Central came just a point short against 6A powerhouse St. Xavier. Belfry was the lone member of the triumvirate to come out in the win column. The Pirates got all they could handle from 1A Pikeville but survived for a nice road win. Lexington Catholic's work is not done yet as Class 2A's top-ranked DeSales will come calling. Corbin has perhaps the toughest draw this week as they also set their sights on a 2A power when they pay Mayfield. Meanwhile within the class, Tilghman has been turning heads and will look to continue to do so in a huge District tilt against Caldwell County.
