oldgrappler Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Boone Co travels to Winchester for a contest against George Rogers Clark. This could turn into a contest of big backs testing the mettle of both defenses. Of course, I thought that last week when Boone decided to do a lot more passing. I welcome the variety of attack. I'd like to see Boone use the run to set up the pass. GRC has a good-sized tailback that gets the bulk of the carries. He has 675 yards in 5 games. It seems that the bulk of his carries are between the tackles. Sometimes they place a FB in front to block. Once he gets going down-hill he can be hard to stop. Boone's run defense will be tested. I did see them sneak a couple of passes in here and there. This looks like a decent match-up with the limited look at GRC I've had. It should be the game of the week. After all, who can resist a contest between schools named after two of the most important pioneers ever to grace the Commonwealth? Tell us what you think. Who wins this game and by what score?
oldgrappler Posted September 28, 2017 Author Posted September 28, 2017 I think the clock will be eaten up by long drives in a battle to see who can stop the run. Boone wins this one 19-14.
