NewCath Sr. Haley Meyers gives up a 2nd inning lead-off single to left-center to Dayton Sr. pitcher Kilee Donelan for the Greendevils only hit of the game. Meyers who was named tourney MVP, struckout 7 and walked only 1 in spinning the near NO-NO. She was supported in the field by some great defense from Jr. SS Lexy Breen, So. 2B Jenna Fryer, and a nice diving catch in right by Sr. Alex Burkart. The Breds go error free tonight.

 

The Greendevils, or I should say, So. SS Grace Workman flashed the leather for Dayton as she was perfect in 9 total chances, The Breds hit the ball hard, but Grace looked like Cal Ripken out there.....young lady is a player!!! :ylsuper: Boys and girls, don't sleep on this Dayton team.

 

Breds missed out a great opportunity in the 1st with 2 on an no outs, but a K, and then Workman snags a ball over her head and turns a double play.

 

NewCath would plate one in the 2nd after Jenna Fryer leads the inning off with a single to left-center and comes home two-outs later on a So. Katie Kelly single to right-center.

 

The Breds would score two more in the 4th with 2-out on an RBI single down the 3rd base line by Katie Kelly and following a Kelly stolen base, she scores on her cousin, So. C Kacy Zimmerman's double to left.

 

NewCath would add their final 2 runs in the top of the 7th. So. Sam Grause doubles on a shot to the centerfield fence scoring Sr. Kathryn Schreiber who reached on an error, and Grause would score on a single to right-center off the bat of Sr. Kennedy Bin.
