Great pitching, defense, & hitting results in a Breds victory tonight.

NewCath So. Riley McDermott gets her 1st varsity victory by tossing 3 perfect innings to start the game and Sr. Haley Meyers enters in the 4th and surrenders only 2 hits (both by Jessie Roark) while striking out 5 in 3 innings of work, in route to the 12-0 6 inning victory.

NewCath would get all the runs they would need in the top of the 1st.....following a Sr. Kathryn Schreiber leadoff single (5-5 on the day) and walk to Fr. Sam Grause, Haley Meyers sends a "laserbeam" over the centerfield fence for a 3-run Johnson. NewCath would add 1 run in the 5th on a one out So. Jenna Fryer single. The Breds would open it up in the 6th as they would plate 8 runs on 6 hits and 2 errors. An RBI single from Schreiber (her 2nd hit of the inning), a 2-run single by Jr. Lexy Breen, and RBI triples by So. Kacy Zimmerman and Sr. Alex Burkart.

NewCath will face the scrappy Dayton Greendevils tomorrow at 6:00 on their home field in the 9th Region All A Finals with the right to travel to Owensboro on the line.
