WHAT A GAME!!!!

 

In a game that took a little over an hour to play, NewCath Jr. Jaden Watts & Sr. Haley Meyers combine on the 6-hitter, as the Breds win in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the 7th. Ryle So. Hannah Bishop goes the distance for the Raiders and also allowed only 6 hits.

 

Jaden Watts started the game for the Breds and gets the Raiders to go 1,2,3 in the 1st. The Breds tack on a 3-spot in the their half of the 1st.......Sr. Kathyrn Schreiber leads off with an infield single, Fr. Sam Grause lays down a beautiful bunt and is safe by a step, however no one is covering 3rd and Schreiber zips past 2nd and heads to 3rd, Ryle attempts to get her at 3rd and the throw is wild allowing Schreiber to coast home and Grause moves up to 2nd. Sr. Haley Meyer draws a walk, then Sr. Kennedy Bin drills an RBI single to left-center to score Grause, Bin moves up to 2nd on an E7 on the play (Meyers to 3rd). After a PO-2, So. Jenna Fryer hits a Sac-Fly to center to score Meyers.

 

The Raiders get on the board in the 2nd with a lead-off Homerun to died center by Jr. Morgan Smith. NewCath would collect only 1 hit over the next 5 innings, but hit the ball hard.

 

In the 4th with Haley Meyers now in the circle the Raiders would add a run to their total, as UK signee, Maclai Branson would lead-off the inning with a single to left, steal 2nd and score on an E6. They would tie things up in the 6th when with 1-out Branson would "rope" a single to left, steal 2nd, and score on a Hannah Bishop single to center. Ryle had them at 2nd and 3rd with one out, but a GO6-3 and K would end the inning.

 

The Raiders 7th was a 5 pitch inning for Meyers who induces two GO4-3 and a GO3, thus setting up the home half of the 7th.

 

With one out So. Jenna Fryer hits a "screamer" to the right center gap for a triple, following a GO6-3 for the 2nd out up steps So. Katie Kelly who absolutely crushes the 1st pitch that one hops the fence in right-center for the game winner.
