Bardstown 81 Washington County 55

Was a 10-point margin for Bardstown at half, but the Tigers blew it open in the second half, outscoring the Commanders 39-23.

Santrel Farmer scored 27 and hit 5 of Bardstown's 10 threes in the game. TreJan Walls went for 21, and his monster dunk, which came immediately after Kel Livers' dunk off an oop pass from Farmer, gave the Tigers their biggest lead in the 4thQ at 29. Livers had 14 in his first game back from eye surgery. He missed last Friday's blowout loss at North Hardin, and was sorely missed by his teammates in that one.

Tigers are into their 13th straight district final, and play a resurgent Nelson Co. team in Saturday's finals. Nelson got there with a surprising blowout of Bethlehem in last night's other semifinal.

DT Yocum had a game-high 30 for Washington Co., but Bardstown seemed to be content with letting him get his while shutting down everyone else for WC, and forcing a fast pace which wore down the Commanders in the second half.

WC had its first winning season since making the region finals all the way back in 2001, when Artie Braden was their coach. Big ups to Coach Bernard Smalley for turning them around since switching over from coaching the girls at WC. For about a decade, 10 wins was considered successful for WC.
