Boone had the opening kick and was able to move the ball down the field and get off a decent shot, momentum changed quickly as Cooper was able to clear the ball up field and it was taken straight to goal in the first minute of the match. Workman caught the goalie out of position and was able to convert a shot from 25 yards out to put the Jags up by two about 5 minutes later.

 

The scored remained 2-0 for about 10 minutes, Nathan Rice was able to take a Cooper giveaway and convert it into a goal, it was a nice strike from distance that landed in the upper right hand corner. Their goal appeared to give Boone some confidence, I felt they played a much better brand of soccer over the next 10 minutes and they did a much better job of defending.

 

Workman was able to notch his second goal with just under 15 minutes left in the first half to put Cooper up 3-1. About 5 minutes later Max Zorn was on the end of some nice passing through the midfield and was able to convert to put Cooper up by three. With only a few seconds left in the half, Snow intercepted a clearance by Boone about 25 yards out and deposited it in the corner for a 5-1 lead at the half.

 

Cooper was able to get another goal at the start of the second half, the first on the year from Rollins put the Jags up 6-1.

 

Yedali added a goal for Boone in the closing minutes to complete the scoring on the night.

Sounds like it was a decent game and I wonder if BC doesn't make that mistake, turnover with just a few seconds left in the first half/goal for Cooper the game might have been a little tighter? Nothing worse then fighting to stay in a game then give up a horrible goal seconds before the half ends, tough to over come.

Ryle Vs Cooper has the makings of a great final. Anxious to read the prediction thread on this one.

I felt that Boone came out believing they could pull the upset, they were very spirited to start the match. Off the opening kick they looked like they were determined to get on the board quick, as mentioned, they were able to get off a decent shot in their first possession. Looking up at the scoreboard less than a minute in and being down 1-0 was a definite blow.

 

They fought back and seemed to be doing fairly well when the score was 2-1, and even down 3-1. I am sure that they would like to have the last 15 minutes of the first half back. The last goal of the half was a back breaker. IMO, it seemed like they felt they had withstood another scoring attempt and were just clearing the ball up field, having it picked off and converted into a goal definitely changed the outlook at halftime.

I agree yellow, I think the goal before half killed any chances Boone had. It was great for Cooper, they started pulling starters after 10 minutes in the second half and had the entire bench in with 20 minutes left, including 3 freshmen who got some valuable playing time, most making their varsity debuts. Good soccer moments for those kids. Looks to be a great matchup Thursday on Cooper's nice, flat and wide pitch!

I passed some excavating equipment on my way home last night, wondered where they were headed.

 

Do you think they will have the renovations done in time for the girls finals too?
