oldgrappler Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Boone JV had the better of it against Cooper-- 6-0. The lone score came on a pass from Zac Grau to RJ Summers across the middle. Summers is a big kid and should be able to haul a lot of those passes in this year. Grau knows how to play the position and is an effective QB with good accuracy. The ground game was working pretty well for Boone as the line opened up some holes and allowed Jante Wingo to get in the open with several good runs for Boone. He looked quick and really good in open field. He also put his head down and became the aggressor when contact was imminent. He also had a solid blocking back in Hunter Freeman. I liked what I saw. Unfortunately, the JV played only one quarter while the varsity played 3 quarters. Of course we would have liked to see how things would have gone had they been able to play longer. The freshman also scrimmaged while the varsity scrimmage was going on. I do not know how that one turned out. I'd love to hear from the Cooper side of things concerning the JV game.
