Dixie sr. pitcher Smallwood goes the distance allowing 5 hits, striking out six, and completely controlled the Thorobreds quiet bats. No more details, only got to see two innings. All schedules and websites had the game starting at 6:45. Drove over an hour cross country to find this 5:30 game almost finished. Not a happy curmudgeon.

Dixie Heights 200 421 0

Harrison County 000 000 1

Congrats to the Colonels and winning pitcher Griffin Smallwood ( 8 Ks ). Second consecutive evening of the Colonels bats springing to life. Junior Cameron Barrett led with 2 hits and sophomore Chaz Gerding with 2 RBIs.

Tourney play in Harrison County resumes tomorrow for the Colonels at 10:30a against Rowan County.....weather permitting!

No worries OC, Griffin Smallwood has a bright future ahead of him...just a solid young man all around. I get team emails on tourney times so I have nothing to compare discrepancy wise regarding the start time. Sorry sources led you otherwise.

If it makes you feel any better we traveled back down to Harrison Cnty from NKY for todays 10:30a game only to have it called after an inning in-a-half. And then the refund person took the money and ran...:lol2:

cue the Steve Miller Band!!! Dixie was leading Rowan County 3-2 after 1.5 when the game and tourney was called.
