As I stated in my pre-season preview, early season defense would be an issue for the Breds, and it was tonight. The Lady Raiders plate 3 in the 1st on 3 costly NewCath errors and 1 hit (an rbi double by Morgan Smith). They would plate one more in the 2nd on a two-out dropped infield pop-up.

Ryle pitcher Kennady Carson looked really good today, as she faced the minimum through 4 innings, but did give up line-drive singles to centerfield by Kennedy Bin (1st inn.) & Alex Burkart (4th inn.), however, both got greedy leads at 1st base and were "dispatched" by Ryle catcher and Thomas More signee, Mckenzi Dickerson.

NewCath got a 2 out, 2 run single off the bat of Fr. Jenna Fryer to put the Breds on the board, but the Breds would threaten no more.

Again, very impressed with Kennady Carson, looks like she is over the knee injury that hampered her the last half of last season. Also, Fr. Hannah Bishop threw the JV game, and did well. Glad to see the young lady return to the diamond after losing all of last season with an ACL injury.
