SoccerMath Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Check out the Top 50 Movers of the Year on the girls side. It's basically the teams that have improved their rankings most since the beginning of the year. These are good teams to keep an eye on, because there is a good chance that they will keep climbing. Maher Rankings | Kentucky High School Soccer Rankings Here are the top 10 in terms of rankings change: Movers of the Week Rank Change 1 Bryan Station 74 2 Conner 73 3 Owen County 73 4 McLean County 57 5 Spencer County 55 6 Williamstown 51 7 Hazard 51 8 Harlan County 49 9 Russellville 47 10 Rowan County 45
jumpball Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Conner has certainly performed better that expected so far , but what rankings are you using as benchmarks? From where did they improve from ? Which list or poll ? Wasn't the January 3 list the first one?
AJBlue Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Yea curios about the criteria. West Jessamine had to be ranked at the bottom but is off to their best start in history at 10-3. Have 4 key players out right now going into County Clash against East tonight.
SoccerMath Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 The improvement is calculated by taking the January 3 Ranking and subtracting from the Preseason Ranking. We don't publish the preseason basketball ranking yet, because it's never super accurate - we take too much flack! In soccer we feel like we've built up enough street cred to do it, but there is still flack. I think a lot of people enjoy it though since they can follow and track their team through out the year. Let me look into West Jess.
SoccerMath Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 I only copied the Top 10 here, but on the maherrankings site, we've shown the top 50. West Jess is the 18th highest Mover of the Year, moving up 36 spots already. They have gained 7.13 scaled rating points, from 54.14 to 61.27 - the 30th best improvement in scaled rating. So, they made the top 50 in both categories!
