Newport Central Catholic 64 Ludlow 37

NewCath's full court pressure gave Ludlow fits all night, as the Breds get the victory at home. If I were to guess the Breds forced 20 turnovers. Despite the defensive effort, the Breds did have quite a few turnovers themselves, most on errant passes. While this one was never in doubt, the Breds had an "off night" shooting the ball.

Coach Dawn was subbing early and often, as all 12 players saw action, and 11 of the 12 saw about equal minutes. If you can remember back to the early 90's and Perry Clark's Tulane GreenWave teams with "The Posse", to me NewCath is implementing something similar. While it's not a fresh 5 coming in, 2 or 3 fresh set of legs are coming in in intervals.

Boys and girls keep an eye on Trent Wrobleski. In his 1st game since coming backfrom football, he had an awesome JV game and a damn good varsity game. The kid has a knack for finding the ball off the glass at both ends.

Tip of the cap to the Ludlow kids for playing really hard, they never gave up all night. :thumb:

The Breds are at Boone County tomorrow night.
