Dawg-gone! Lawrence escapes Greenup, 19-15

Ray Schaefer / For The Independent

LLOYD Grant Kiser was positive his pass to Austin Chaffins would connect.

Lawrence County’s senior quarterback knew this even though there were three Greenup County defenders within a yard of Chaffins in the end zone.

Kiser was correct. His 10-yarder to Chaffins with 28.1 seconds left allowed the Bulldogs to escape with a 19-15 win on Friday.

“It was a little curl route,” Kiser said. “I knew he’d catch it. I had faith in him. I just knew he could catch it, so I just threw it up there.”
