Home-field advantage probably plays a more significant role in football than in any other sport because fans want to take advantage of the few opportunities, given the low quantity of games, to pack their houses.

 

This has held true seven years in the running for Ashland and Ironton. The last time an away team won a series meeting was in 2007, when Ironton beat the Tomcats, 27-7, at Putnam Stadium.

In addition, no matchup has even been very close. Heading into tonight’s clash at Putnam, each of the last eight duels was decided by 10 or more points.
