After falling behind 4-0, South Laurel got four of their own in the bottom of the sixth, then completed the thrilling comeback in the seventh when, with two outs, Jantzen O'Neal hit a high bouncing ball to short that hit off the top of the glove of a leaping Matthew Cox, driving in the winning run.

Some kind of game!

Who pitched for the Cardinals?? I hope the Clay-South game is a dandy tomorrow. Hopefully South had to waste Smith like we had to waste White.

Cody Philpot started and had a rough outing, but Josh Riley came on in relief and was spectacular. Clay will see Trey Smith tomorrow.

HaHa. Not too good for the Tigers. I'd say the Cardinals will see freshman right-hander Nick Gray. It's a tough situation for a freshman, but I think he can do it. I think if the Tigers can get 5 runs off of Trey they will be in the finals. I know 5 runs is a lot off of him though, but if the bats get hot like they can I wouldn't bet aganist it. It should be a great game. Good luck both teams. Hopefully both teams bring their A game so we can see a truely spectacular game. I think this is the best 2 teams in the region. How did Clay win today?? I didn't get to make the trip.

I didn't get to see it, but I was told that they won late on a steal of home on a botched bunt. Someone else who was there might be able to explain it better than I.

Well, at least three of the four Monday games were thrillers — further evidence that the blind draw needs to go away. Imagine how good a NL-Middlesboro game would've been; instead, fans got "treated" to a 13-3 snoozer in the day's opening game.

Given the way this one ended, I have to wonder if SL can't ride Big Mo(mentum) all the way through.
