Ashland reached a turning point on Friday night.

 

It’s a juncture on which, in a few weeks, bystanders will look back and say, what happened to that team? Or, more desirably for the Tomcats, everyone will just continue to ask, what’s going to happen to the next team they play?

 

Ashland coach Tony Love isn’t one to just throw around the phrase “statement game,” so when he said he and the staff tasked the Tomcats to come up with one against Russell, he undoubtedly meant it.

 

Satisfying all of their coaches’ wishes, the Tomcats orchestrated a demolition-derby-type performance that left most of the area in awe.
