MONDAY MORNING QB: Tigers' Big Jon on the money

Aaron Snyder / The Independent

When you’re Kash Daniel, you can disregard warning labels.

He shrugged one off that read “Danger: Heavy Object, Lift with Care” on Friday night.

When Paintsville teammate Jonathan LeMaster rumbled into the end zone for his first career touchdown, Daniel hustled to the 6-foot-1, 275-pound senior to hoist him in celebration.

Daniel’s a pretty big cat (and a future Kentucky Wildcat) himself, so Dr. Quarterback doesn’t think he strained any lower back muscles or suffered any other injuries.

The 6-3, 250-pounder and the Tigers set the tone well for what they hope will be a monumental season by thrashing Sheldon Clark, 46-12. It was 40-0 in the second quarter when Paintsville’s starters exited.

LeMaster’s score came with 2:09 to go in the first quarter. He seized a rare opportunity for a lineman to capture glory, just as William “The Refrigerator” Perry famously did in the 1985 Super Bowl. Perry had two rushing touchdowns and a receiving TD during the regular season as a rookie in ’85.
