Indians win an early battle between two of the preseason favorites in the region.

 

Montgomery Co scored two in the first half, the first on a long shot by Hill over the keeper who was too far out from the goal to be able to make the stop. The second was a putback from Fuller after a long free kick hit the crossbar.

Shkrabba scored the final goal on a breakaway in the second half.

 

Brossart's keeper had to leave the game pretty early with the game still scoreless. I don't think he returned.

I got to see MoCo play last Saturday. Not surprised they won, but I would have thought score would be closer. Caswell Fuller is a neat player and fairly complete player... super quick, good over the ball, distributes well and a good ball striker. Only thing he lacks is a little size. Alex Shkrabba is big, strong, quick and can finish up top. MoCo had a lot back from last year which probably helps them early season being on the same page. I'd bet these two teams see each other in Regionals and I'd expect a closer game second time around.
