I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 active and all was fine until today. All was fine and I left house put on truck charger and screen went crazy just showing black and white lines then after powering down and back on it came back to normal but screen looks like it has a shadow on it. It also has a burnt in image of the last website I was on ( nothing dirty), almost like the old plasma TV would do if you left them for long period of time?

Sounds like your battery is junk and cooked your screen.

How long should a factory battery last? I've never had a problem on any phone.
