In a district seeding game, the Breds down the Tigers 23-0 in 3 innings at the Bellevue Vets.

 

The Breds hit 4 homeruns on the day, Kennedy Bin with a two-run job, and Lexi Potts, Morgan Martini, & DLG 2.0, Alex Burkart all with Grand Slams.

 

Haley Meyers (1inn. 2K's) and Jaden Watts (2 inn. 4K's) combine for a no-hitter. Watts picks up her 2nd career varsity win.

I have to give a big "tip of the cap" to Bellevue head coach Megan Prather. She comes from a competitive playing background, having played at (Cincinnati) Anderson High School, and she owns two businesses in Cincinnati, but lives in Bellevue. Being a Bellevue resident she wanted to give back to the community and inquired if the school needed a coach. She was hired and had great expectations for a team that had been in desperate need of a softball mind, let alone someone who was there for the right reasons. Myself and Highlands Head Coach, Rob Coffey, offered our full support of anything she needed to assist her in this venture. I also suggested and reached out to Dayton Head Coach, Beth Hunt, who has done a superb job with the Dayton program, to speak with Megan since the two programs are somewhat similar. Myself and Coach Coffey felt Beth would be able to give her some good advice on what it's like coaching at a small school.

 

While the record and scores indicate one thing, what Coach Prather is doing (giving back to the community and showing these girls she's there for the right reasons) should be commended. JMO

It seems like the smaller schools, at least here in the northern part of Kentucky, seem to do well. I blame these small schools for going and getting good,if not great coaches. These small schools have no were near the enrollment as the big schools, yet they produce results. If she's good and sticks around long enough, yall might be wishing you didn't give advice:) All joking aside, I hope she gets a ton of girls loving to play and the rest of it will take care of itself.

Agree, but all to often at these small schools it's a tough road to hoe, way more obstacles than the most have to deal with.

There was no need to give my usual detailed summary, however, I post EVERY score win OR lose by the Breds. Plus, I wanted to give my daughter (as well as Lexi Potts & Morgan Martini) a little love for hitting a grand slam.
