4chs Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Corbin wins the first game of the doubleheader by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to overtake the Cardinals. South Laurel was winning the 2nd game by a score of 5-3 in the 5th inning, not sure of the final score though.
4chs Posted April 12, 2006 Author Posted April 12, 2006 Hamlin picked up the win for Corbin in the first game with some of the young Redhound players coming through offensively to pull out the win. Freshman Josh Smith doubled home one run in the 7th off of Riley to pull Corbin within one run, then sophomore Britt Brittain singled home freshman Corey Sewell and Smith with the tying and winning runs. South Laurel came back to take the second game by a score of 14-5 with Trey Smith geeting the win and Hedrick taking the loss for Corbin. Corbin is going to have to develop some of their young pitchers as the season goes along as two of their projected top three pitchers are either hurt or no longer with the team and another pitcher possibly out for the season with mono.
