Big lopsided victory for Covington Latin over Heritage!

 

Is this win the largest point margin in the team's history at 22?

 

In their first meeting they lost to Heritage 53-47.

 

Are the Trojans turning a corner?

 

These two teams face off again on Feb 7th in their 3rd meeting of the season, so we'll see.

Covington Latin beat St. Francis 72-52 on Jan. 19, 2013 when Mitchell Blewett was tearing up the nets in his senior season.

I'm all wet about this being their largest point margin in their team's history.

 

When Mitchell Blewett was a junior they had a few more large point margin victories as well worth noting, and the biggest being 39 over SCPA, and a 36 point victory over Walden.

 

Dec 6, 2011 - Covington Latin 65 SCPA, Oh 26

Jan 7, 2012 - Covington Latin 76 Frederick Fraize 54

Jan 13, 2012 - Covington Latin 76 Walden 40

Feb 3, 2012 - Covington Latin 55 Walden 35

 

I wonder if they ever topped their largest of "39" either back in the early 70's when they had a competitive team with Jeff Stowers, or when Brian O'Connor played around '76 or '77, or David Justice in the early 80's?

 

During those days they undoubtedly still had a schedule stacked with small schools, so I guess that it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

 

Finding this answer might take some searching through microfilm.

 

I'll just assume that "39" is the answer.
