The George Rogers Clark High School girls basketball team concluded play in the Gateway Holiday Classic Monday with a 61-44 win over rival and host Montgomery County.

Clark raced out to a 14-4 lead after the first quarter and led 30-17 at the half. The Lady Cards stretched the margin to a game-high 24 points at 52-28 in the second half before coasting during the final eight minutes.

The Lady Cards (7-6) got a solid outing from Elizabeth Hardiman, who poured in a game-high 19 points on 9 of 11 shooting from the floor. Hardiman completed a double-double with 12 rebounds, including eight on the defensive end. Hardiman recorded three of Clark’s four blocks in the contest.

 

Sydney Anderson followed Hardiman with 12 points and connected on two of Clark’s four 3-pointers. Clark shot 61 percent from the field and got most of its scoring inside, netting 40 points in the post.

 

Lady Cardinals standout Sandra Skinner was hindered by foul trouble and finished with seven points and four rebounds in 13 minutes of action. Skinner added four rebounds, a block and two steals.

 

Sarah Arnett led the Lady Indians (3-8) with 11 points, followed by Delaney Bromagen with 10.
