Landon Young, 2016 Lafayette Lineman, Commits to Kentucky Football Team

Posted onJune 14, 2013 by Steve Jones

Still in the thick of its class of 2014 recruiting, the University of Kentucky football team added a commitment on Friday from a Lexington player who just finished his freshman year of high school is still more than 2 1/2 years away from the day he would sign.

Lafayette High School two-way lineman Landon Young – an apt last name for a player making such an early college decision – committed to the Wildcats, their first pledge for 2016 and one of the few in the country.

At 6 feet 7 and 270 pounds, Young doesn’t have the frame of your average high school freshman. An offensive tackle and defensive end, he made 17 tackles in 10 varsity games last season. Here’s a link to some of his Hudl highlights.
