Not much to report on this one, actually. Both teams played pretty well.

 

Each team had a nifty Line Drive/Doubled-Off double play.

3 combined errors, none led to runs.

Each team had 5 Ks, and Male allowed 1 BB and 1 HBP, neither of which scored.

Pitching lines:

Male - Wireman 3IP, 2H, 1ER, 0BB, 3K

Suski 4IP, 3H, 2ER, 1BB, 2K, 1HR

CHardin - Nall 7IP, 3H, 0ER, 0BB, 5K

 

Each team threw 97 pitches, interestingly.

 

The only real flurry of excitement came when CH's #9 hitter, Shackleford, hits an 0-2, 2-out 1B into shallow left, followed by lead off hitter, Bryant, sneaking a fly ball over the fence by less than a foot....Male's RF fielder had beaten the ball to the spot, but didn't stick her glove out over the 4' fence to make the grab unfortunately. Just kind of watched it.

 

Basically two very good teams, in a well pitched game. One had to win, the other had to lose. the 2 extra CH hits were the difference.

 

Both teams travel to Owensboro this weekend for the Sports Warehouse Classic and some BBQ (and beer).

I bet this was a great game to watch. These are two very good teams that could very well be traveling to Owensboro again in a little over a month.
