Grant County went to 3-1 in District play to assure no less than a 3rd seed in the 32nd district tourney. With a win at Williamstown on Tuesday the Braves would be assured no less than a 2nd seed, leaving their home game with Simon Kenton later this month to determine the #1 seed.

 

Grant's first district game without Blackburn. The final score really doesn't reflect the way that Grant handled Walton. Howe got Grant off to a hot start scoring 11 in 1st quarter on 5-6 shooting. Grant cruised to a 16 point halftime lead where it stayed until late in the 4th when W-V closed to within 10. Howe then hit a contested 15 foot jumper and the Braves closed it out on the free throw line. Braves went 21-25 on free throw line for the game.

 

Braves had balanced attack with Howe scoring 18, Adam Riley with 15, Nathan Koebcke with 14 and Bailey Tabor with 10. Jon Livengood did nice job at point in Blackburn's absence. Braves should get Lucas Sharp back next week after missing a month with broken hand. Lucas was starting before his injury and had 11 against W-V in their first meeting.

What was the diagnosis for Blackburn?

Torn acl. He is out for the year.

Sorry to here that. That's ashame he had to end his career like that.

Does anyone know where the 32nd district is being at this year?

It was Walton's turn under the old alignment. I would say that still stands as it is rotated each year. Williamstown had it last year. Grant in 2004. Owen in 2003. Scott in 2002.

Thanks for the info. I now wonder if Sk will take Owen Counties spot in the rotation??
