Sophomore pitcher Taylor Burkart returns from illness that had her miss the last two games and leads the Breds to victory tonight at Bartlett Field in Newport. Highlands gets a bloop hit in the first and another in the 4th. Highlands ties the score with one run in the top of the 5th on no hits. The Breds score one, and go up one, in the bottom of the 5th when freshman Michaela Ware plates a run with a two out double. In the bottom of the 6th senior Mehgan Millard walks, steals second, and then back to back doubles by freshman Casey Kohls and senior Paige Immegart give the Breds a 4-1 advantage. Highlands scores one in the 7th on two hits. The 2nd hit scores that run but the girl is throwout at 3rd to end the game. Still wondering why she was trying to get to 3rd when her run means nothing? Burkart let the Birds hit the ball has she had ZERO K's, but the defense was there for the Breds. Good game by both teams overall.

ABC2, I'll take a large Jamocha shake.

Nice win for the Breds. Kind of surprised after losing to the camels and the way Highlands has been hitting.
