  1. I am just glad to see that the beating we laid on Elder hasn't dampened the spirits of the Ohio fans. Not even a year after words and they are back in that "holier than thou" frame of mind. So far the smack they are talking seems equivilant to that which was being said last year before Elder. I guess the Rocks will just have to up there and shut them up again. I also enjoy the fact that none of them give the Trinity D any respect, that D being, for the most part, the same one that held Elder to 20 points and FORCED 5 TURNOVERS! By the way, good post CR.
  2. No you cannot do what you have posted. But who is responsible for that policy? Not Trinity, the KHSAA, or the LCPS. IF the residents of a particular county feel that they should be able to do so, write a letter, start a petition, do something besides complaing on this board. I have said this at least twice already. Tirinty DOES HAVE AN ADVANTAGE. But neither is this advantage unfair nor is it the only reason, as TheMan purports, is it the only reason that Trinity has the type of program that it does. THere are many other factors that are more important than a large enrollment, look at those top 15 enrollment schools that have not had much success for an example.
  3. I still don't think that any one has fully answered the St. X/Trinity difference compared with the difference between Trinity and other schools. As for the entire purpose of this thread, I really don't see its point. As I posted earlier Trinity does have an advantage because of numbers, so what. That is not an unfair advantage, if it were they would not be in the KHSAA. I believe it was ballcoach that said it best in his post. These other teams should stop making excuses and work hard to get the job done. If a Trinity or X beats you it's because they are better, and not just because they are bigger. They also have a better traqdition, better coaches, better facilities, and better fan and alumni support.
  4. You would be doing the same if it were your school being attacked. It seems to me that some on this board will not be happy until Trinity, amoung others, is kicked out of the KHSAA. Does Trinity's larger enrollment constitute an advantage? YES. Is this an unfair advantage? NO. It's just the way things are. Finally for the third time will someone please answer this question for me. Why do Trinity fans not complain that the gap between them and St. X is bigger than that of Trinity and the next 15 or so schools?
  5. You have to remember that public schools give FULL scolarships to ALL of the students from tax dollers. If any private school dropped the financial aid that is given, it would be a serious blow and might even led to the eventual shut down of the school. As for the aid that is given, it is not enough in some cases. Trinity does have a work study program to help students earn some extra money for their tuition. I will admit that the numbers are an advantage, but not the biggest. The biggest advantages at Trinity are the coaches, the facilities and the 14 previous State Titles. Arguable Trinity's best stretch in football, approx. '87-'91, came during a time when enrollment had slumped and there was talk of going coed to resolve the problem. I believe CentreRocks brought up a point earlier that no one has addressed. The enrollment gap between X and Trinity is larger than that of Trinity and about 15 other 4A schools. Why do you not here Trinity fans complaining about this when X wins? Another question, would we even be having this discussion if Trinity didn't win State the past two years.
