  1. Purples are a slight favorite in what should be a great game. These kids from Elliott County have been playing together since they were little kids. They know each other and are more in sync than probably any other team in the tournament. Size is definitely a concern for Elliott. Both their starting guards are 5'6 whereas Bowling Green's guards are both 6'0. Somebody mentioned stopping Sine, but it's not easy and I'm not sure anyone on Elliott County can accomplish the tough task. If Sine and Carothers have their way with EC's guards, the Purples should win this game convincingly. Elliott County is very young and not very deep. The Lions only use 7 players, one which is an 8th grader who is supposed to be the real deal in the future. Bowling Green uses 8 guys, not including Gott and Rhien who have been in and out of the lineup throughout their senior campaign. None of the players on the Lions squad have played in a sweet 16. The Purples are making their 3rd trip in 4 years. Elliott County has potential to pull off the upset but I wouldn't put my money on it. The young Lions will be a threat in the future for Kentucky High School basketball, but this year isn't the year. Too much speed, size, and depth should make for an smooth Purple victory. Purples win by 11.
