  1. I watched those two play at the end of last year and this past weekend. Someone in stands mentioned that The Legends hasn't been beated by a team in the same age group since SS beat them last summer in the RGB event that ICE won. I recall SS beating The Legends handily and taking ICE to OT in that event last year. I was actually surprised at the margin The Legends won by this past weekend. They looked really good. Does anyone know where the little point guard SS had last year is playing? He was dynamite little firecracker.
  2. From what I've gathered on this site. Playmakers 14U D1 Legends 13U D1 I assume How about Scott Co Wildcats Elite Stallions ICE Taylor Made NKY Rockets Shining Stars GHITP MidSouth The Ville FOCUS Royals Wizards Clay Co Johnson Co East Ky Elite (I think) Ky Grind Any others?
  3. Is the Bearcat following the same age rules? or are they still grade based?
  4. I think AAU did the right thing with the age requirement. But, the August 31 date makes NO since. I think it should have been February 31 or March 31. There are tons of kids that were very immature as a 5 year old and held out of school unitl 6. Now they are small 7th graders having to play against 8th graders.
  5. Are you guys playing D1 or D2? Are most of them 14U players?
  6. I watched this team play at KBA a few weeks back. I was told they were 4th grade and I was amazed at how good they were. I know it is a large program with some some good teams. But, this was by far the best Shining Stars team I had ever seen.
  7. I'm not really asking. I'm just saying that I think all the 7th grade team have been hit in similar ways. Tom did tell me that the Eastern Ky teams have been hammered pretty bad by it. But the teams from the cities not as bad. He said the Eastern Ky teams hold all their kids back for sports. I know Clay Co last year had some giant kids that were clearly more mature than others. So, I'm assuming that the Legends are similar to the majority and have 2~3 14U players also. Any kid that was born in the summer of 2001 likely was delayed from starting shool at 5yr old. Those are considered 14U players based on the new age structure.
  8. I was looking at the 2014 6th grade teams. I talked to Tom Bower at KBA recently and he told me that all the current 7th grade teams have 14U players. He told me all the good ones are moving up to 14U for state. A couple are playing both 14U & 13U(Sitting the couple older kids for 13U) But what seems odd to me is that a legit 13U team is winning all these tournaments including playing as 8th grade events. There is one of two things. 1) They are playing in some sucky events. 2) They also have their share of 14U players. Could possibly be both.
  9. ABB, In all fairness this thread cracks me up. You seem to follow them pretty close as this information is not just "out there". I came on here looking for tryout information for a 5th grade boys team in the Georgetown area. Most AAU teams are just now having tryouts and most tournaments are school teams. I did take the liberty to look at last years Ky State D1, D2 and D3 results. Legends were not listed in D1, The were very average in D2. For whatever reason they were signed for and didn't play in D3. I think I recall seeing them in an event last summer in Cincy. I know i've seen them but not sure when. In our last tournament event last fall we faced a Ky team in the finals and we went to OT. We did win but it was a close game. They were not big but had some good players. Most notably they had a really good point guard.
