  1. The KHSAA B.O.C. is meeting today to discuss the final alignment and the appeals from various teams. Here is the link to some of the actions that they are taking. KSBA's Public Portal
  2. South does lose Sherry at QB, but has a transfer from Connecticut that looked real impressive in the spring. They also have an underclassman that is as tall or taller than Sherry, that has looked to be better at running the triple option. Up front, South returns 4 out of 5 starters, 3 of which will be 3 year starters. Although both receivers should be back, the best athlete of the 2 is still undecided on playing football or concentrating on basketball. Two starters return in the backfield. They will have a sophomore that will see playing time in the backfield that is small and fast. They also have a transfer from Louisville Eastern that should compete for playing time. Defense will be the big question mark for South. They will be on the 5th defensive coordinator in 4 years. They will return 6 starters from last year but I believe will be running a different defensive scheme than last year. If South can be as successful on defense as they have on offense, they should have a good year. I heard that for the first week of summer workouts, they only had 4 coaches. They have been advertising extensively on the Listserv looking for a defensive coordinator, but it appears that with the board of education cutting teacher positions, they are having a real hard time getting any qualified applicants.
